In this study, we conducted a simulation to compare the performance of the permutation test and the asymptotic likelihood ratio test under various conditions. The permutation test, on the significance of a regression parameter, can improve the accuracy of the hypothesis decision. To remedy the consequences of these violations with a normal-based hypothesis test, we present the permutation test procedure within the social network framework. However, the nature of network data (e.g., small size, non-normality, and dependence) violates the assumptions of logistic regression, which can lead to an unreliable inference.
